Who Are We
The Boston Terrier Club of Western Washington is a Boston Terrier Club dedicated to:
Encouraging and assisting those who have the will and desire to promote the betterment, understanding and desirability of the Boston Terrier.
Urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by The American kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which Boston Terriers shall be judged.
To do all in it’s power to protect and advance the interest of all breeds of pure-bred dogs and to encourage sportsmanlike competition at dog show, obedience trials, and agility trials.
To conduct sanctioned matches, dog shows, obedience trials and agility trials under the rules of the American Kennel Club.
The BTCWW became officially authorized by the American Kennel Club to hold matches in 1986. The Boston Terrier Club of America is our parent club.
Our Club is extremely active, holding two Sanctioned "B"
Matches a year and hosting two Boston Terrier Specialty Shows back to back in
August. These shows offer conformation and sometimes obedience trials. We hold
two All Breed agility trials each year, New Year's Eve Weekend and in March. We
encourage club members to come and watch or participate as a competitor and/or
volunteer worker. The premiums are posted on the website and contain the dates
and times of each trial.
Our Club is geared to pet owners as well as to those who show their Bostons in the conformation ring at AKC shows and specialties. Several of our members are active in obedience and agility, and we are really building a name for our Bostons in these areas.
Most of our members are from Washington, Oregon and Idaho, with many members from all over the U. S. and Canada. Monthly meetings are held in the Seattle/Tacoma area. Yearly dues are $15 for single membership and $20 for a family membership. Two existing club members must sponsor new members. A monthly newsletter is included in the membership dues.
